Training Gear MAde Without TOXINS
Your skin is your largest organ — and what touches it matters. Most rash guards and “Poly Blend” training gear are made from petroleum-based fabrics that trap heat, stink fast, and leach chemicals into your bloodstream. Ours are made from hemp, bamboo, and cotton. No toxins. No chemicals. Built to move, breathe, and last.
The Hidden Cost of ‘Performance’
Polyester. Nylon. Elastane. They sound technical, but they’re just petrochemicals in disguise. The same stuff used in food packaging, garbage bags, and car parts… is now being worn by athletes every day.
- These fabrics trap heat and disrupt your body’s natural cooling system.
- With every wash, they shed toxic microplastics that get into everything.
- And worst of all they leach hormone-disrupting chemicals, especially when combined with sweat and friction.
That’s not “performance.”
That’s a liability.

Built by a Guy Who Got Tired of Wearing Oil
If you were told point blank, hey this is made of oil, wear it, would you do it?
Most rash guards today are made from the same chemicals used in car parts, fast food wrappers, and garbage bags. And athletes are wearing that stuff like it’s elite performance gear.
That didn’t sit right with me.
Hey, I’m Phil.
I’ve been designing physical products for over 20 years — from the first PCV revamp for VW turbo engines to one of the earliest lens adapters for smartphones (back in 2009, when that wasn’t even a thing yet). I love building things that solve real problems.
But this one’s personal.
I train. I sweat. I care about what touches my skin. And once I saw what petroleum fabrics were really doing to our bodies — the overheating, the hormone disruption, the long-term toxicity — I couldn’t unsee it.
So I started Athlinen.
It’s not just a brand. It’s a fix for a broken standard. Our apparel breathes better. Feels better. Is better. Built for athletes, by athletes. Made from materials that actually belong on your skin.
If you’ve ever felt like modern sportswear is quietly sabotaging your performance… You’re not crazy. And you’re not alone.
